domain it’s Vikram here today in this video we are going to see how to dual
boot latest Ubuntu18.04 & Windows 10, without wasting much time
let’s get started right click on my computer and select manage choose disk
management right click on your main hard disk and select properties go to volumes
and know your partition style if your partition style is GPT then you can have
more advantage now right-click on the partition that you want to shrink and
select shrink volume enter the amount of space you want to shrink and click
shrink button now you will see an unallocated partition right-click on it
and select properties to see your partition style now go to google and
type Ubuntu 18.04 iso free download and hit enter select the second link which
will take you to this Ubuntu download page click and download the iso is your
requirement this is a short video so i’m not going to show you the whole download
process for the time being I’m going to cancel the download process because I
already downloaded the ISO now you have to extract the downloaded ISO right-click
on it and select extract files click OK now insert the pen drive into the USB
port open the power iso software go to tools and select create bootable USB
Drive select the source image file select the correct destination USB Drive
and now click on start click OK on the warning message I’m going to fast
forward and use jump cuts in this video click OK when writing USB Drive
successful messages receive close the power iso software now go to start and
select restart now keep on pressing booth manager function key in my case it
is f9 now select your bootable USB hard drive in my case at SanDisk select try
Ubuntu without installing now double click on install Ubuntu 18.04
LTS in the Welcome select your language and click continue select your keyboard
layout and click continue click continue select normal installation and click
continue select something else or if you don’t want to take risk then go for
install Ubuntu alongside Windows boot manager but this video is on something
else installation type click on something else and click continue now scroll down look for free space
select and click on the plus button now you have to create partition leave
some space for swap partition leave rest as it is but select route in mount point
and click OK root partition is ready now create swap
partition again click on the free space click the plus button leave everything
as it is button use us select swap area and click OK now your swap partition is
also ready select your root partition in my case it is ext4 click on install now
you will see a message showing the partitions that are going to be
formatted in my case it’s partition 7 & 8 now click continue select your country
and click continue type your name and password details and click continue it
will take some time to install maybe 15 to 20 minutes so I’m going to fast
forward this video and I’m also applying jump cuts finally you will get
installation complete message saying installation has finished that you can
continue testing Ubuntu but until you restart the computer any changes you
make are documents you save will not be preserved click restart now remove the
installation medium then reboot in boot manager select Ubuntu
and GNU grub select Ubuntu type the password and login boom welcome to Ubuntu 18.04 you will
see what’s new a new Ubuntuguide go through the guide to know more about new
